We are honored to be the inaugural Corgi Family on the Pemintenn site. As you can see I am owned by two Pembroke Welsh Corgis. My first Corgi ever was Dara, whom I adopted from Nan when I met her in 1997 at the Garden State Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty in New Jersey (to which she traveled from Tennessee to attend). I had gone to the show in an attempt to at least make my name and face known to as many Corgi breeders as I could, since I was having no luck over the phone getting a Corgi (in my pre-internet days). As luck would have it, Nan had Dara with her, possibly available as a pet placement. Unbeknownst to me, I was being intensely interrogated by Nan and a few of her friends. Nan took a chance on me and Dara came home with me that very day. A couple of years later I felt a companion for Dara would help her overcome her shyness and McGwire came into our lives (from another breeder). He did his job well and for the next seven years they were fast friends.
Unfortunately, Dara went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2005. For three months McGwire grieved for her (as did I) looking for her at every meal time, sticking to me as if glued. Nan called and offered Reese, a female black tri. After taking McGwire to Tennessee and meeting Reese, we decided it was a good match and Reese came home with us. Reese and McGwire have become good friends, wrestling on a daily basis and enjoying our life together.

The pictures shown here were taken at our Adirondack lakefront home that we love to visit. We take long walks together, play frisbee and fetch a ball. Reese and McGwire are wonderful travelers, sleeping in their crates the whole trip wherever we go. In the half acre property I have in New Jersey they do a good job of scaring the squirrels half out of their wits every morning and making sure the neighbor cat stays in his own yard. Reese and McGwire make me laugh every day.
Through the years Nan and I have developed a close friendship and we marvel at the coincidence of our chance meeting. She has been a big help with any problems that have developed and has shared some valuable tips from her photography expertise, a hobby we both enjoy. I enjoy visiting Nan in Tennessee, especially when there is a litter of puppies! We hope to attend the PWCCA Specialty together this September in Warwick, R.I.
