The home of Pemintenn Pembroke Welsh Corgis is located on 10 1/2 acres in the foothills of the Smokies. Yes, on a summer's eve the night twinkles and shines with fireflies! Fortunately, I don't have to hike into the wilderness where there may be bears. At Pemintenn I can sit on my front porch as the sun sets over the mountains, smell the sweet perfume of Honeysuckle, listen to the haunting sounds of bagpipes on a distant ridge and watch the fireflies dance.
While I have always had dogs, there have been corgis at Pemintenn since 1992 when I purchased a rascally, red Pembroke puppy, Cori (U-CD Coriander Ocoy, CDX, TDI, CGC, HIC), to be my companion. I quickly realized Cori was not only an extremely smart puppy, but anxious to learn anything new. Cori and I started obedience classes together and soon found ourselves immersed in the world of competitive obedience. Cori received many firsts while earning her titles, including several High Herding Dog, and a High In Trial at an all-breed show. Cori adored children, and with her Therapy Dog International certificate became the first dog in East Tennessee to work with abused children. |
It was my good fortune to get my start in conformation with the purchase of two wonderful pem pups, Luke (CH Saddlelane Esquire O'Pemnten) and sister Becca (Saddlelane Glamour O'Pemnten), from Andrew Carter in Connecticut. Luke became my first conformation champion, finishing with 4 majors. Fortune shined on me once again when I acquired a beautiful and naughty, red headed tri puppy, Teena (CH Nebriowa Pemintenn Velveteen), from Tim Mathiesen and Larry Cunha in California. All the Pembroke Welsh Corgis that are here at Pemintenn today go back to both Becca and Teena.
Pemintenn Pembroke Welsh Corgis have all been certified free of inherited eye problems and canine hip dysplasia through the Canine Eye Research Foundation (CERF) and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), and have been additionally tested for von Willebrand's Disease in the Pembroke Welsh Corgi (vWD).

Please take time to go through the links at the bottom of this page. East Tennessee has a colorful history in the Highlands region of the Mountain Empire. It is the birthplace of Davy Crockett and the home to the Cherokee Nation. The original settlers to this region were of Scots, Irish Celtic decent and is reflected in its music (bluegrass, celtic, country & gospel), rich story telling, and down home cookin'. We will soon have a link to regional recipes for food and drink so, please, come by often and see what's goin' on at Pemintenn.
